Use tracking domains

Why you should setup your own tracking domains:

  • If you don’t want the domain carmamail.com to appear in links in your emails.
  • Get “List Unsubscribe” functionality in your email. (I.e. Unsubscribe link in Gmail)

Carmamail.com domain in emails

Every link inserted in Carma will be replaced with new links so when someone click on the link they will first go to the Carma web server and then forwarded to the actual landing page. That’s how we measure clicks and that’s how you get your click statistics. Some of you don’t want the domain carmamail.com to be visible, but instead replace this with your own domain. If this is the case you should scroll down on this page to learn how to set up tracking domains.

List Unsubscribe

The List-Unsubscribe header is an optional chunk of text that email publishers and marketers can include in the header portion of the messages they send. Recipients don’t see the header itself, they see an Unsubscribe button they can click if they would like to automatically stop future messages. (Read more about the List Unsubscribe standard here.)

  • Including a List-Unsubscribe header in your emails will reduce complaints, improve deliverability and improve the experience for your subscribers.
  • Get the Unsubscribe functionality in Gmail. Read more here (source: Google) and here (Source: Marketingland.com).
  • The only thing you need to do to get ListUnsubscribe functionality in Carma is to set up tracking domains. Please read more below.

How to setup Tracking domains

To set up tracking domains you have to create a subdomain on your own domain and point this to the Carma servers. For more information, please click here.
